The all new 2009 Toyota Prius is a front-wheel drive, five-door liftback vehicle that delivers comfort, value, and a smooth ride with impressive fuel economy. It is one of the best-selling gas-electric hybrids in the United States.

Available in Standard, Base, and Touring trims, the 2009 Toyota Prius has Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive, an efficient hybrid powertrain technology contributing to higher fuel efficiency. The 2009 Toyota Prius is a carry over model from 2008.

Power and performance

The 2009 Toyota Prius is powered by a 76-horsepower, 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine and two electric motors. The variable valve timing with intelligence (VVT-i) helps to optimize power delivery across the engine speed range.
