Overview

The 2010 Toyota Tundra is a full-size pickup truck that boasts a new engine for the current model year. Toyota has also introduced two new optional packages on the 2010 model - the Tundra Work Truck Package and the Platinum Package.

Power and performance

All models of the 2010 Toyota Tundra can be equipped with the new 4.6-liter V8 engine that produces 310 horsepower and 327 pound-feet of torque. The engine is coupled to a six-speed automatic gearbox. The Tundra Work Truck comes with many engine choices that include the large 5.7-liter V8 with 381 horsepower capacity and towing of 10,800 pounds. The new Platinum Package adds a flex-fuel version of the 5.7-liter V8 engine.

Body and styling

The Tundra Work Truck Package is designed for commercial buyers who look for plenty of cargo volume and towing capacity. It is offered on 4x2 as well as 4x4 models and black bumpers and grille replace chrome accents on Work Truck models. The Platinum option enhances comfort with addition of plenty of chrome accent. It features Platinum-logo badging on the doorsills, billet-style grille, chrome bumpers, and 20-inch alloy wheels on the exterior. On the inside, models that are equipped with the Platinum Package showcase a navigation system, power tilt-and-slide moonroof, wood-trimmed shift knob, perforated and ventilated leather seats, and chrome-accented vents and controls.

The 2010 Toyota Tundra comes with an abundance of standard safety technologies such as traction control; stability control; anti-lock disc brake system; tire pressure monitoring system; three-point seatbelts in all seating positions; front-seat side airbags; full-length side curtain airbags; driver and front passenger seatbelt pre-tensioners with force limiters; emergency locking retractor on driver's seatbelt, and automatic/emergency locking retractors on all passenger seatbelts.
